Gwennie

Tessa Guze, Gwennie, oil on canvas, 12" x 9"

This is a portrait of my sister's cat Guinevere, Gwennie for short. She is tortoiseshell with a white bib. Gwennie's expression in this painting is the look she gives my sister when she wants attention.

Before I send this painting to my sister it will be on display in the Gwangju International Center, in South Korea. It will be on display from March 10th to April 7th.

Jugar

Tessa Guze, Jugar, oil on canvas, 36" x 18"
This is a portrait of the street dog who lived on the steps of my building in New Delhi. Despite being neglected, dismissed and verbally abused he remained a sweet, friendly and cheeky animal!

Welcome

Thank you for visiting my blog!

As a people and animal portrait painter I believe that a successful portrait is not just a copy of what the subject looks like, but it is also a lasting reflection of the subject's character and personality (whether human or animal). For the artist, this requires getting to know the subject in a very profound way. I love getting to know new people and animals and finding ways to make my paintings reflect their personality and presence.

If you are interested in commissioning a portrait of one of your pets or a painting of a favorite animal please contact me at tessaguze@gmail.com. Prices are negotiable. Additionally some of the paintings featured here will be for sale so if your interested please also shoot me and email!

I also do portraits of people or portraits of people with their animals (you can get your whole family done)!
